About

Emma is an artisan and the founder of IKIGAIA, a slow fashion brand rooted in Rotterdam and inspired by the quiet wisdom of nature and traditional Japanese textile arts.

Every piece she creates is handmade using organic, natural materials — thoughtfully sourced from artisan communities around the world, each carrying its own story. Through the ancient practice of plant dyeing, using leaves, flowers, bark, roots, and fruit or vegetable waste, Emma transforms natural materials into truly one-of-a-kind garments, accessories, and textile pieces.

IKIGAIA was born from a belief that fashion can be a force for balance — between nature and industry, between slowing down and creating with intention. Everything Emma makes reflects her ikigai: her reason for being, her purpose made visible.

At Voodoo Village, Emma opens up her world through an intimate workshop, inviting you to slow down, reconnect with nature, and explore the meditative art of natural dyeing…
